Governance and Stewardship
The Council is a Mississippi Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation organized for charitable and educational purposes. The Board safeguards the organization’s mission, finances, policies, and long-term direction. Officers support the day-to-day responsibilities assigned through the bylaws and Board action.
Membership information is treated as confidential and is limited to authorized personnel. Council resources must be used for mission-aligned purposes rather than private benefit.
Shared Work
The bylaws allow the Board to establish committees and task forces. As needs and volunteer capacity grow, these groups may support:
- Cultural events and education
- Youth and scholarship initiatives
- Community service
- Membership and hospitality
- Communications and historical preservation
- Fundraising and partnerships
