Governance and Stewardship

The Council is a Mississippi Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation organized for charitable and educational purposes. The Board safeguards the organization’s mission, finances, policies, and long-term direction. Officers support the day-to-day responsibilities assigned through the bylaws and Board action.

Membership information is treated as confidential and is limited to authorized personnel. Council resources must be used for mission-aligned purposes rather than private benefit.

Shared Work

The bylaws allow the Board to establish committees and task forces. As needs and volunteer capacity grow, these groups may support:

  • Cultural events and education
  • Youth and scholarship initiatives
  • Community service
  • Membership and hospitality
  • Communications and historical preservation
  • Fundraising and partnerships

Current committee opportunities will be announced when they are formally established.
