The Mississippi Gulf Coast is home to Filipino groups of many sizes and styles—from established organizations to informal circles built around friendship, faith, hometown ties, shared interests, or community service.
The Council welcomes relationships with groups that want broader visibility, shared support, and stronger regional connection while retaining their own identity, leadership, and traditions.
Connected, Not Absorbed
Working with Fil-Am does not require another group to surrender its name, independence, leadership, culture, or internal decision-making. The purpose is not to erase what makes each group distinct. It is to make the wider Filipino-American community easier to discover, support, and connect.
Ways We Can Work Together
- Cross-promote public events and announcements
- Collaborate on festivals, workshops, and cultural programs
- Coordinate community service
- Connect youth and families with broader opportunities
- Share knowledge, volunteers, venues, or community resources
- Build relationships before considering any formal partnership
A Practical First Step
An initial conversation carries no obligation. Tell us about your group, what matters to your members, and where greater connection could help. Any formal use of the Council’s name, shared fundraising, financial commitment, or ongoing organizational arrangement would require appropriate Council approval.
Bring Your Group into the Wider Circle
If your group would benefit from stronger connection while remaining fully itself, contact the Council to begin a conversation.
