Both membership paths connect people with the Council’s mission. The right choice depends on whether you primarily want public updates and participation or a deeper role in governance.
Community Membership
Community Membership is free and open without an age or residency requirement.
Benefits include:
- Public event announcements and general Council updates
- Participation in public cultural events and programs
- Attendance at general membership meetings as a non-voting participant
- Possible committee service at the discretion of the committee chair
- A simple way to remain connected to Filipino-American community life
Community Members do not vote, hold office, serve as directors, attend Board meetings, propose Board agenda items, or attend member-only events.
Supporting Membership
Supporting Membership is $25 per year and is available to eligible adults who want a greater role in sustaining and governing the Council.
Benefits may include:
- All public organizational communications
- Voting in elections and referendums
- Eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors
- Attendance as an observer at quarterly Board meetings
- The ability to propose agenda items for Board consideration
- Committee and task-force participation
- Access to public and member-only events
- Proxy voting rights under the bylaws
Supporting Members must remain in good standing, including keeping dues current and complying with Council bylaws and policies.
More Than a Transaction
Membership is an invitation to participate with respect, reliability, and care. Benefits matter, but the deeper value is helping preserve heritage, strengthen community life, and create opportunities for the next generation.
