Membership is a way to stay connected, support the Council’s mission, and participate more deeply in Filipino-American life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Membership Options

The Council maintains two membership paths: Community Membership and Supporting Membership.

Community Membership

Community Membership is free and open to individuals who support the Council’s mission and want to stay connected. There are no age requirements, residency requirements, fees, or dues.

Community Members may receive public event notifications and general updates, attend public events and programs, attend general membership meetings as non-voting participants, and serve on committees at the discretion of the Committee Chairperson.

Community Members do not have voting rights, cannot hold office or serve as Directors, cannot attend Board meetings, cannot propose Board agenda items, and do not have access to member-only events.

Supporting Membership

Supporting Membership is for individuals who want to support the Council more directly and participate in organizational governance. Supporting Members must be at least 21 years old, support the Council’s mission and goals, reside on the Mississippi Gulf Coast unless waived by Board resolution, submit a Supporting Member application, and pay annual dues of $25.

Supporting Members may vote in elections and referendums, be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, attend and observe quarterly Board meetings, propose agenda items for Board consideration, serve on committees and task forces, attend public and member-only events, receive organizational communications, and grant proxy voting rights to another Supporting Member.
